Austin's First Job

Austin was selected by the principal and the Director of the Summer Explorer Program to be a Jr Leader for the summer. There were only 4 or 5 other students hand selected to do this. The Summer Explorer Program is an all day camp for students who attend ACS and need somewhere to go during the summer. There are field trips almost everyday.

It isnt a paying job, however Austin is having a blast. He works Mon-Fri for approx 7 hours a day. He is helping out with the 1st-3rd graders. Today the program went to the YMCA for swimming. Austin came home and had to take a nap because the little kids just wore him out. LOL. Peyton of course thinks he is the "Big Kid On the Block" because his older brother is a "Jr Leader".

Summer Time

Paul and the boys spent the evening playing catch in the street. It was so nice and warm. This was taken at 8pm Alaska Time. I just love the amount of daylight we get in the summer!

We will miss you Mrs. Echols

Yesterday was the last day of school for the boys. It was very bittersweet for Peyton. He was happy that the school year was ending but very sad to see his teacher have to say goodbye to him. Mrs. Echols and her husband and their 3 youngest children leave this Saturday to head back to their home state of Michigan. We will miss them all very much.

No Longer A Tiger Cub

Tonight Peyton had his ceremony for promotion to a Wolfe. Paul and I are so very proud of him. Way to go Peyton!!!!

Just A Busy Saturday

Today was the final day of Austin's basketball tournament. We played at 1pm and beat a tough team 56-39. We then played the same team in the final game for 1st place at 7pm. We won by a mere 6 points to take first place. It was a very rough game. I can honestly say that the refs were awful. The refs called 17 fouls on our team to the other teams only 4 fouls for the entire game. It was a great game and we are so very proud of Austin and the rest of the 6th/7th grade boys. After the tournament we went over to Grandma and Grandpa G&L so the boys could visit with their cousin Blossom. They have really enjoyed having her here and will miss her so much when she leaves for NC in one month. I was able to have them sit still for a brief moment so I could get a picture of them.

Mother's Day

The boys and I had an amazing day on Mother's Day. We missed Paul for sure and we are looking forward to his return to us on Thursday. We started the day with a very nice breakfast in our Sunday School Class at church. All of the men and children made a wonderful pancake breakfast for the ladies. We had fresh fruit, strawberries with chocolate and fluffy pancakes. After church we went over to Georgia and Louie's for a very nice lunch. The kids visited with their cousin Blossom. When we returned I was greeted with beautiful roses from Paul. Thank you Paul!
