A few more fair photos

State Fair 2008

Today I took the boys to the State Fair in Palmer. Austin brought along his friend Sawyer. It was the nicest day I can ever remember at the fair. The skies were blue and the sun was beaming. The temperature was in the mid 60's. My sister Ivy and her husband and their son, Deegan met us there. Once we were through the main gates I didnt see Austin or Sawyer until it was time to leave some 5 hours later. They had a pocket full of tickets and cash and they were gone! If you didnt know, its not cool to go to the fair with your mom. Every once in a while I would run into a classmate of Austin's and they would tell me they had just seen him or he was off on some scary experience on a ride.

Peyton hung out with me. We were able to get there early in the day and the lines were very minimal. Deegan rode some of his very first carnival rides. It was great to see how he got so excited over them. We enjoyed some of the traditional fair food.

The pumpkin that Peyt is sitting next to was the grand prize this year. Over 900 lbs.

First Week Of School

Austin and Peyton started school on Monday. Both boys were very excited. Austin started cross country on Tuesday. He had his first meet on Thursday against Houston Middle School in the Valley. I wasnt able to attend due to my work schedule this week, but my dad went and was cheering Austin on for the family. He was the first ACS boy to make it to the finish line and 10th overall. There were over 120 boys running. I must say when I met the bus to pick him up he litterally crawled off the bus. He was so tired and so sore. LOL. Peyton is LOVING 2nd grade. He loves everything about it. He said his favorite part is he gets PE Classes this year 4 days a week.

Time to say goodbye to summer

Well the summer vacation for the boys has finally come to an end. Tomorrow Austin has Jr High Orientation. We { yes parents get invited} get to run through a mock mini day of what his classes will be. We will get to meet all 7 of his teachers and spend about 15 minutes in each class. He already decorated his locker earlier in the week and basically is all set for classes to begin on Monday. Peyton will start 2nd grade on Monday. He is so excited to have Mr. Syzpanski. We checked out the classroom assignements earlier this week and most of all of his friends are with him this year. His best friend Matthew, will also be with him again. They have been together since K5. After orientation tomorrow we have to get haircuts and then we are all set for the first day on Monday. Austin will start Jr. High Cross Country on Tuesday and Peyton starts basketball in about 3 weeks. Peyton also starts back with Scouts on Monday night. I think my favorite part of going back to school is the early bedtimes. LOL
